Phoneix Online | Pheonix University

Friday, April 10th, 2009

There is a lot of controversy regarding Phoneix Online University.  Whether a degree from online schools such as Pheonix University Online is valid is often questioned by potential employers. Many feel that these types of degrees are just bought and whether or not the curriculum has actually been learned by the students.

Phoneix Online

Many employers complain about people who have received an online degree from Phenix Online.  They tend to argue about the legitimacy of such programs, whether or not it is as legitimate as going to school full time at a four year college.  However, many are now coming to realize that online accreditation can be as legitimate as a traditional degree from a four year university.

Many four year colleges are expanding on this idea and are now offering online courses as well to keep in competition with programs like Phenix Online.  In fact, nearly every college in the United States has some sort of online course that can be taken.  Many professors are having their students only come in to class once or twice a week and they are now turning in homework via the internet.  Taking it one step further by having entire degree programs online is only a natural progression.

Second most notable controversy is the amount of money it takes to get through the Phoneix Online program.  The internet is full of horror stories regarding the program, about their financial aid department, about students being un-enrolled from their classes due to not having enough money, despite having paid with loans.  However, money has always been an issue when it comes to higher education.  There will always be a lack of money, loan repayments and so forth when the US higher education system is in question.  So, in the end, Phoneix University is something to consider.  There is some controversy surrounding Phoneix University, as there always will be when an online degree is in question.

Online Universities and Colleges

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

There is a wide variety of online universities and colleges out there that are completely legitimate, as well as rather inexpensive.  Online program universities will often offer a true accreditation with your diploma.  You will receive the same degree that you would be entitled to as a student at the universities brick and mortar school.  You can choose from many different online university programs that offer a variety of degrees.

accredited online universities and colleges

The natural advantage of online universities and colleges is that if you work and study hard, you can earn a degree in your free time and have a legitimate four year degree without having to leave home.  There are many online university programs available.  Being a nontraditional student in a university with 18 year olds may not be your choice for serious study.  You may prefer an online university or college for any reason.

For many jobs, a degree from the University of Phoenix is not as useful as a four year degree from a traditional school.  However, there is no reason why this degree would be rejected as legitimate.  For many potential employers, a degree from an online university or college could very well mean that you were a working professional who needed some extra education.  It also means that you took the time out of your busy work week to schedule time to study and go to class in order to better yourself and reach further along with your career path.

So, while DeVry University or other accredited online university or colleges may not be your best bet for certain professions, it certainly better than no degree at all.  It will tell employers that you are going somewhere and willing to get a degree to get there.  In effect, an online university or college degree is highly recommended if a traditional four year program at a traditional school is not for you.
