Online Universities and Colleges

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

There is a wide variety of online universities and colleges out there that are completely legitimate, as well as rather inexpensive.  Online program universities will often offer a true accreditation with your diploma.  You will receive the same degree that you would be entitled to as a student at the universities brick and mortar school.  You can choose from many different online university programs that offer a variety of degrees.

The natural advantage of online universities and colleges is that if you work and study hard, you can earn a degree in your free time and have a legitimate four year degree without having to leave home.  There are many online university programs available.  Being a nontraditional student in a university with 18 year olds may not be your choice for serious study.  You may prefer an online university or college for any reason.

For many jobs, a degree from the University of Phoenix is not as useful as a four year degree from a traditional school.  However, there is no reason why this degree would be rejected as legitimate.  For many potential employers, a degree from an online university or college could very well mean that you were a working professional who needed some extra education.  It also means that you took the time out of your busy work week to schedule time to study and go to class in order to better yourself and reach further along with your career path.

So, while DeVry University or other accredited online university or colleges may not be your best bet for certain professions, it certainly better than no degree at all.  It will tell employers that you are going somewhere and willing to get a degree to get there.  In effect, an online university or college degree is highly recommended if a traditional four year program at a traditional school is not for you.

Cheapest Online Schools

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

In order to find the cheapest online schools, you will need to do an internet search.  You can also check into your local area for affordable online schools.  Many two and four year colleges are offering online courses that are less expensive because there is no classroom nor does a professor need to be paid to come into class every day.

By choosing an affordable online school in your area, you will save in tuition fees.  Most out of state schools charge more per credit for those who do not live in the same state.  There may not be financial aid available through an out of state college as well.  Many courses are offered at less than one hundred dollars a credit.  Some two year colleges are less than that making online courses much more affordable than going to a brick and mortar college.

There are many that are considered the cheapest online schools that do not have any university affiliations and yet have online courses and degrees that are recognized as true degrees. Devry and Phoenix are just two of these highly rated affordable online schools that can offer inexpensive alternatives to typical college.
